Storm-Drain offers a collection of instrumental tracks tracing a sonic movement through changing states of effected rhythms and atmospheric ambience. It features an alternate form of record scratching and sampling, treated electronic percussion, manipulated frequencies and filtered tone experiments, snatches of received radio static, and repetitive minimal vocal sounds to present an aural environment that is both soft and sharp, entrancing and haunting.
While still having a focus on texture and rhythm, it becomes primarily about the shifting and nomadic arrangements, which describe a kind of journey through various auditory channels. These movements change directions, at some points seeming to go inward through states of consciousness, and at others seeming evocative of organic spaces. Within the unusual sonic mix there are references to the archaic, the future, and times in between.
Three clips from each of the seven tracks are featured to the right.
The CD has a running time of fifty-five minutes.
