Ashin is the musical moniker for Los Angeles based artist Jason LaMotte.
Ashin projects might vary, but they share commonalities in being electronic explorations focused around rhythm and percussion and striving to embody an Archaic Futurism, a sonic synthesis that is both progressive and primal, bouncing somewhere between a groovy, experimental, tribal and belly dance, electrogoth, dubtronic, hip hop fusion.
Ashin’s background in visual art lends his music an unconventional experimentation and a raw naivete.
He pursues a music that can serve as a keynote for bodily experience and consciousness journeying.
